ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Spalding track and field team swept the SLIAC Track Athlete of the Week awards. Victoria Shedron was named the women's track athlete of the week, while Peter McGowan was named the men's track athlete of the week.
 
Shedron, a senior from Rossville, Ind., took first place in the 5000-meter run at last weekend's Pioneer Invitational. She completed the race in a time of 19:43.64, the 4th fastest time in program history and 47-seconds faster than the next closest competitor.
 
McGowan, a Versailles, Ky. native, ran his way to a fifth place showing in the 5000-meter run at the Pioneer Invitational. The senior finished at a time of 16:53.02.
 
The Golden Eagles will be back in action Saturday, March 26 at the Hanover Invitational in Hanover, Ind.
