CINCINNATI, Ohio. - The Spalding University Golden Eagles men's and women's track and field teams delivered competitive performances at the MSJ Alumni Open on February 7th. Competing in a deep indoor field, the Golden Eagles showcased their depth in sprint and distance events, highlighted by strong relay finishes on both the men's and women's sides.
On the women's side, Spalding was led by its relay teams and sprint group. The Distance Medley Relay team of
Bessie Kelley,
Holly Higgs,
Avory Hamblen, and Reganne Piercy turned in an impressive 14:36.24 to finish second overall and score key team points. The 4x400-meter relay team — Higgs,
Roslyn Stull,
Lucy Jones, and Hamblen — followed with a strong 4:10.79 performance to place third. Individually,
Lucy Jones clocked 30.25 in the 200 meters, while
Roslyn Stull posted a 28.95 in the same event. Together, the Golden Eagles' women combined strong relay performances with solid individual efforts to secure a fifth-place team finish.
The Spalding men were equally competitive, highlighted by a first-place finish in the Distance Medley Relay.

Caleb Stinson, and
Tobias Rice teamed up to run 9:12.16, earning top honors and valuable points. In the 200 meters,
Chad Dahl led the way with a 23.15 to place third overall, while
Devon Howard finished in 24.42 and
Javier Manon crossed in 25.86. The men's 4x400 relay team of Dahl,
Levi Chesser,
Noah Stinson, and
Caleb Stinson posted a 3:39.22 to finish second. In the mile,
Tobias Rice recorded a 4:51.53 and
Noah Stinson followed with a 5:06.21, adding to the team's overall depth.
Behind those efforts, the Golden Eagles men finished sixth in the team standings, while the women placed fifth.
