LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding University women's basketball team lost to the Panthers of Greenville to pick up their 11
th loss of the season. The women extend their record to 7-11 overall and 3-4 in SLIAC play.
Early in the first period,
Natalie Fichter would put the Golden Eagles up by four with back-to-back three. Both teams would continue to battle for the lead with Spalding taking the lead 20-16 at end of the first. Spalding shot 57% from the beyond the arc as they made four of seven three pointers. Greenville turned around in the second and outscored the Golden Eagles 18-12 to inch them within two of the lead. Coming out of halftime, Greenville would continue to take advantage of Spalding miscues as they would outscore the Golden Eagles 41-26 in the final two periods. Greenville would give Spalding their 11
th loss as they walk away with the win, 75-58.
Natalie Fichter totaled 17 points and eight rebounds on the night as
Kailey Reed and
Meagan Hayden each had 12 points. Hayden shot 4-7 beyond the arc with two rebounds. Lastly, Mercedez Moors put up 11 points while bringing down 4 boards for Spalding.
