LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding men's soccer team rolled past Eureka College, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at the Spalding Athletic Complex in Louisville, Ky. With the win, the Golden Eagles improve to 3-5-1 overall and 2-2 in SLIAC play.
The Golden Eagles got on the scoreboard midway through the first period when
Ethan Eckert found
Luc Cesar who fired a shot in the back of the net in 22
nd minute for the first of his two goals.
Reese Bohde scored in the 34
th minute off a ball played in by
Chris Encarnacion to extend the lead to 2-0 heading into the half. Cesar added another in the 48
th minute to push the Spalding lead to three goals and
Braden Anderson tacked on another in the 68
th minute to make it 4-0 SU. Spalding added two more goals in the final 10 minutes to run the final tally to 6-0.
Kaleb Whiteside scored in the 86
th minute and
Trenton Anderson buried a free kick from 40 yards in the 87
th for the final goal of the game.
Assan Gueye (1-0) earned the win in the net while recording two saves on the day.
