LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding University men's basketball team drops home game to the Grizzlies, 64-55. The Golden Eagles advance their record to 2-6 on the season.
As we hit tip-off, the Grizzlies would control in the early minutes of the first half as they jump up to a seven-point lead on Spalding. Franklin would continue to run with the lead as Spalding found themselves down by ten. The Grizzlies would take advantage of Golden Eagle turnovers and missed shots to take the first half, 32-24. Spalding was able to make a turnaround after the half as they would go on an 8-2 run to get them within two of the lead. Franklin wouldn't stop there as they continued to push the Golden Eagles further from the lead. The Grizzlies' offense became too much as Spalding could not recover as Franklin hands the Golden Eagles their sixth loss of the season.
Christian Stewart led the Golden Eagles with 16 points and nine rebounds as
Jacoby Johnson finished with 14 points while
Maxton Campbell had eight points with six rebounds.
