LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding men's soccer team rolled past Greenville, 4-1, in the SLIAC Tournament semifinal match. With the win, the Golden Eagles improve to 12-7-1 on the season and will take on the Webster Gorloks in the championship game Saturday, November 6 at 2:00 p.m. ET.
The Golden Eagles got out to an early lead on a pair of goals by
Chadrack Mulondani. The first coming in 6
th minute following a mistake by the Panthers keeper. The Second came in the 29
th minute when Mulondani curled a corner kick into the side netting to give SU a 2-0 advantage heading into the half. Spalding added to their lead in the 70
th minute when
Ethan Eckert found the back of the net off a feed from
Jacob Bass. Greenville's Napoleon Urquidi scored on a penalty kick in the 75
th minute to trim SU's lead to two goals, but Mulondani neutralized it scoring for a third time to complete the hat trick as Spalding went on to win, 4-1.
Danny Hernandez got the win in the net tallying five saves to earn his fourth win of the season.
