Box Score LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding University women's soccer team advances to the SLIAC Semifinal Match on penalty shots. Spalding will extend their record to 10-7-2 overall and 8-5-1 in SLIAC play.
Spalding wouldn't take the 1-0 lead until the 39
th minute of play as
Dori Emig would find the back of the net on an SU corner kick by
Andrea Hayden. The Blue Jays would tie the score in the 54
th minute of play as Lauren Halamicek would find room for her 6
th goal of the season. As the match came down to the wire, both teams would run out of time in regulation coming down to penalty shots. Both teams would take six shots a piece until
Kara Krueger buried the seventh one passed keeper Megan Davidson. It was all up to Delaney Kaiser of the Blue Jays to give her team a shot at the win. Spalding keeper,
Jordan Schneider, was able to just barely get a foot on the shot to launch the Golden Eagles to the semifinal match. Despite ending in a tie, the Golden Eagles proved themselves the victor of the match advancing them in postseason play.
