LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding University volleyball team tops Webster in four sets to extend their record to 7-10 overall and 5-3 in SLIAC play.
Spalding came out hot as they take the first set from the Gorloks, 25-19. Despite losing the second set, the Golden Eagles would bounce back and take sets three and four by two points in both. With the set scores being 1-1, the Gorloks would take the third set down to the wire as the Spalding offense would avail to give them the lead 2-1. Set four would prove just as difficult as set three as both teams would take turns taking the lead. Ultimately, the Golden Eagles would take the set and match in four sets to improve their records.
Kendall Mattison would lead the Golden Eagles with 16 kills as
Jayda Branch follows closely behind with 14.
Mya Summers led the team in assists with 43 as
Sarah Richards dug 22 balls off the floor.
The Golden Eagles take the court again tomorrow, Saturday, October 16
th at home against Eureka at 2:00 pm ET.
