LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding baseball team went 3-0 during the Four Pegs Classic, winning over Penn State Behrend.
Game 1
Spalding 15 - PSU-Behrend 7
The Golden Eagles dominated in the Four Pegs Classic against Penn State-Behrend. Spalding opened up scoring five runs in the first three innings before Penn State-Behrend could come back with a pair of runs in the fourth and fifth. Spalding got into Penn State's bullpen and picked up another point by scoring again with a run in each of the fifth and sixth innings, by the seventh inning the Eagles had scored seven runs on seven hits. The Lions tallied five runs total in the eighth and ninth innings, but ultimately the Golden eagles were up by too much, winning 15-7.

Isaac Lineberry had four hits with three RBI's and two runs,
Garrett Wilson had three hits with an RBI and two runs.
Evan Trentman,
Mitchell Langley,
JT Johnson and
Michael Hill each added two hits.
Zach Jones got his second win on the season pitching five innings with eight strikeouts only allowing two runs and five hits.
Game 2
Spalding 18 - PSU-Behrend 1
The Eagles dominated this game in both pitching and hitting while the Lions were held hitless until the third inning. However, the Golden Eagles managed to tally two runs in each of the first and third innings. Eventually, Spalding scored 10 runs in the fourth inning on four hits and eight walks. Penn State-Behrend scored their lone run in the seventh, while Spalding added one run in the sixth and three in the eighth with the help of a homerun from
Michael Speck. Spalding controlled the game, winning 18-1.
Notable Stats
Eric Meyer and
Garrett Wilson led the team with two hits apiece, combining for six RBI's and five runs between the two.
Jack Parisi got his first win of the season pitching six innings striking out seven and allowing only two hits and zero runs.
Drew Switzer came in relief striking out two and allowing only one hit.

Spalding 3 - PSU-Behrend 0
In the last game of the series, the game was a close one. The Lions were shutout in the game and only had five hits. Spalding scored in the first inning from a double by
Garrett Wilson followed by a single RBI by
Eric Meyer. Spalding was able to score on a sacrifice fly in the fifth and then a single by
Isaac Lineberry in the sixth.

Garrett Mathews earned his first win by pitching eight shutout innings while striking out six and allowing five hits.
