Golden Eagles land five on SLIAC Men's Golf All-Decade Team

LOUISVILLE, Ky – Jonathan Gandia, Anthony Irwin, Hunt Lenz, Andrew Pleasant and Keith Thompson were named to the SLIAC Men's Golf All-Decade team.

The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference made their selections this past week for the All-Decade team for men's golf. The 2010-2019 selections were composed of athletes who received top individual awards and All-Conference selection titles. Coaches for the team were then picked based on Coach of the Year awards within the decade.

Jonathan Gandia was a three-time All-Conference honoree and was a part of three SLIAC Championship teams over the course of his career. Gandia became a First Team selection during his 2015 and 2016 seasons. Jonathan also had the highest finish at the NCAA Division III National Tournament by a SLIAC player at 21st in his 2015 season.

Anthony Irwin was a three-time All-Conference honoree in his career at Spalding University. Irwin also became the first Golden Eagle to bag a championship title in his 2013 season. That season, Irwin set a conference record for the lowest tournament score with 211.

Hunt Lenz became the second of three Golden Eagles to play his way to a SLIAC individual title. The 2015 SLIAC Player of the Year also earned three All-Conference honors and two First Team selections in his career.

Andrew Pleasant became a three-time First Team All-Conference selection pick from 2012-2014 while helping the Golden Eagles to their first SLIAC tournament championship and NCAA Championship appearance.

Keith Thompson rounds out the group and was the only Golden Eagle to receive All-Conference honors in all four years and was a First Team selection three times during his career. In his senior season, Thompson helped guide the Golden Eagles to a SLIAC team championship and NCAA appearance.

We would like to congratulate these former student-athletes for their hard work and dedication to the Spalding men's golf program. For the latest news on Spalding men's golf follow @SUGoldenEagles on Twitter and visit SpaldingAthletics.com.
