LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding women's basketball cruises past Fontbonne, 80-49.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game began close with the Griffins taking a six point lead in the first quarter. However, in the second quarter, the Golden Eagles were able to cut the deficit and obtain the lead with a three-pointer by Megan Goeing with 5:30 left in the half. From there, Spalding found their stride and kept pushing, going into half time up by 12.
 
- The third quarter began as an exchange of points back and forth until another three by Goeing shot the Eagles to an 18-point lead. Kailey Reed and Breanna Anthony both gained three-pointers, followed by good defense and a strong offense, they were able to go into the fourth quarter up by 23 points.
 
- In the fourth quarter the Griffins tried to fight back, but it wasn't enough. Spalding ended the game with a layup by Hannah Renfro to take their lead to 31 points and a win of 80-49.
 
- Hunter Wright led the Golden Eagles with 19 points, five rebounds, and four blocks. Megan Goeing followed with 14 points, two steals, and one block. Allison Just also gained Spalding 11 points and five rebounds.

FOR THE FOES
- Rylee Stafford led for Fontbonne with 20 points and four rebounds.
