LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding baseball team earned a win over Transylvania Wednesday night, 8-3. Spalding improves to 19-7 overall for the season.

HIGHLIGHTS
After a scoreless first three innings, Transylvania scored three runs in the fourth and fifth on two RBI doubles and an RBI single. Spalding scored its first run of the game on a RBI single to right from
Cody Milliner in the bottom of the fifth, and never looked back adding seven more runs over the next three. In the sixth inning,
Bryce Spalding had a sacrfrice fly out to center to score Spalding's second run of the game.
Dillon Sievert came across the plate for a run after throwing errors by Transylvania, and
Evan Trentman scored on a balk to end the sixth inning rally. Spalding pulled away in the seventh inning on a three-run home run by
Evan Trentman, and plated on run in the eighth on a RBI groundout by
Eric Meyer, to seal the 8-3 victory.
NOTABLE STATS
Hayden Davenport (2-2) received the win on the mound for Spalding allowing no hits, no runs, and adding three strikeouts in four innings. Quenton Brownlee had an outstanding day at the plate. The senior was a home run away from batting for the cycle and finished 3-for-5.
Garret Wilson finished 3-for-4, scored a run and stole a base.
Evan Trentman hit his first career home run and led SU with three RBIs, going 2-for-3 for the game.
