Golden Eagles defeat Highlanders, 91-72

JACKSONVILLE, IL. – After a slow start, the Golden Eagles won over MacMurray, 91-72.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Golden Eagles had a quick start but the Highlanders took the lead with seven minutes left in the first quarter and ran with it, going into the second quarter up three. In the second quarter, the Golden Eagles still couldn't regain the lead, going into the half down four points.
 
- The Golden Eagles came out of half time a new team, quickly taking hold of the lead with a three pointer by Megan Goeing and another by Kendyl Powell. From there Spalding didn't look back, going into the fourth quarter up 11 points.
 
- In the fourth quarter, the Golden Eagles offense and defense stayed strong. Spalding managed to gain 20 points, ultimately pushing their lead to a 19-point win over MacMurray.
 
- Hunter Wright led for Spalding once again with another double-double. Wright secured 24 points and 14 rebounds for the night. Allison Just followed with 14 points and 6 assists.

- Alaina Vance led for the Highlanders with 19 points and 5 rebounds.
