LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding University men's basketball team opened their 2019-20 campaign with a 68-58 loss to Hanover College Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Golden Eagles secured the first points of the game with a jumper from
Marcus Montgomery. After some back and forth leading to a 4-4 tied game, Spalding then took the lead with a layup from
Braeden Warren and a three-pointer from Montgomery taking the score to 9-4.
- Spalding controlled the first half, leading 31-26. However, in the second half, Hanover was able to tie up the game and take the lead with 14:11 left in the game.

Marcus Montgomery led the way for the Eagles with 22 points, four three-pointers, and 100% on free-throws for the night.
Robert Bendingfield also secured 13 points, five rebounds, and four assists.

Jaiquan Edwards provided 6 rebounds, three points, one block, and one steal.
FOR THE FOES
- The Panthers Mark Albers led the way with 12 points and four rebounds. Following behind was Issac Hibbard with 11 points, five rebounds, and two steals.
