LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding University volleyball team split games Saturday afternoon at Fontbonne University, defeating Eureka, 3-0, and falling to Fontbonne, 3-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Against Eureka, rolled past the Red Devils in straight sets 25-17, 25-19, 25-14.
Alexis Dircksen and
Mya Summers led the way for the Golden Eagle offense. Dicrksen had 11 kills on the night and Summers passed 20 assists.
Maddie Rosendaul and
Brittany Rickert each had a trio of service aces for Spalding and
Haley Just also added a pair of aces.
- Spalding played a hard-fought game in the second game, narrowly losing to the host Fontbonne in five sets, 25-22, 16-25, 17-25, 25-23, 12-15.
Savannah Kruse led Spalding's attack with 14 kills, while tallied 11 kills and
Cassie Jones added 10.
Mya Summers dished out 32 assists and had 14 digs, and
Haley Just and
Sarah Richards led the back row with 17 digs apiece.
