Golden Eagles Roll Past Berea, 6-0

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding Men's soccer team had an impressive outing Tuesday afternoon when they beat Berea, 6-0. With the win, the Golden Eagles record improves to 5-1 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
⁃ Spalding netted an impressive six goals for the match, the first coming off a free kick from Mirza Ugarak (6'). Kornell Hilliard (36') dribbled through defenders to score the second goal of the match and Mani Bakari (58') put away the third assisted by Jospeh Zamora. Kornell Hilliard scored his second goal of the game and sixth on the season, in the 79th minute following a pair of one-touches by Joseph Zamora and Trusten Ashburn. Trusten Ashburn netted his first goal of the season on a penalty kick in the 84th and Micheal Gil found the back of the net in the 87th, assisted by Logan Harden and Corey Kissinger.
⁃ Spalding finished the night with 18 shots, 14 coming in on target.
⁃ Goalkeeper Jude Louis (4-1-0) earned his first clean sheet of the season and ended the night with two saves.

FOR THE FOES
⁃ The Mountaineers managed seven shots for the game with two coming in on target.
⁃ Goalkeepers Nickolas Knoster and Clay Sheaffer (1-1-0) allowed six goals and finished with eight saves.

⁃ The Golden Eagles return to action Saturday, September 15 in Richmond Ind. taking Earlham College at 3:30 PM EST.
