LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding University softball team split a doubleheader against Fontbonne losing game one, 6-1, and winning game two, 3-1, Saturday at Holy Cross in Louisville, Ky.

• Maddy Strickland and Emelia Modglin led the Griffins at the plate both going 3-for-4.
• Maddy Strickland (6-8) earned the win holding Spalding to one run, on four hits, while striking out five batters in 7.0 innings pitched.
GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS

Olivia Carter got the Golden Eagles going early in game two driving in
Addison Morris with a single to centerfield to give Spalding a 1-0 lead after one inning.
• The Golden Eagles added another run in the second inning to take a 2-0 lead. Morris singled to the pitcher allowing
Caroline Hale to score from third.
• Leading 2-1 following a Fontbonne run in the top of the third, Spalding answered in the fifth with a run when Carter singled to left field allowing
Ally Klein to race home from third.
GAME TWO STAT LEADERS

Olivia Carter led the Golden Eagles at the plate as well as earned the win in the circle. At the plate, Carter went 2-for-3 with two runs batted in. In the circle, Carter (8-3) limited Fontbonne to one run, scattering four hits, while striking out one batter, in 7.0 innings pitched.

Jennifer Peffley and
Kaylin Rucker also tallied a pair of hits each going 2-for-3.
FOR THE FOES
• Brianna Durant (1-4) suffered the loss two runs, on five hits, in 2.0 innings pitched.
