LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding University softball team swept a doubleheader from Blackburn College, 8-0 and 6-2, Friday afternoon in Louisville, Ky.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
• The Golden Eagles jumped on Blackburn early taking a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. With the bases juiced,
Ally Klein singled to right center driving in
Caroline Hale and
Jennifer Peffley. Following a wild pitch that advanced
Lindsey Hubbard and Klein,
Addison Morris ripped a two-run single to left field for the final two runs of the inning.
• SU added three more runs in the third when
Grace Sweat lifted a three-run home run over the left field wall scoring Carter and Hale.

Mackenzie Henderson capped off the scoring for SU with a RBI double to left field driving in Morris from first.
GAME ONE STAT LEADERS

Grace Sweat drove in a game-high three RBI going 1-for-2 at the plate.
•
Addison Morris finished 2-for-3 with two runs batted in and a run scored.
•
Ally Klein also drove in a pair of runs on a 1-for-2 performance at the plate.
•
Amber Kilburn (5-6) earned the win shutting out the Beavers, while allowing five hit and striking out one batter in 5.0 innings pitched.
FOR THE FOES
• Halle Fransen led Blackburn going 2-for-2 at the plate.
• Jensen Ballinger (4-4) suffered the loss, allowing seven runs, on seven hits, in 2.1 innings pitched.
GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
• Trailing 2-0 in the second,
Brianna Eatmon got the Golden Eagles on the scoreboard with single to left field driving in
Olivia Carter from third. With bases load, freshman
Ally Klein singled to short brining Eatmon across the plate to tie the score at two all.
• The Golden Eagles used a four-run fourth inning to take a 6-2 lead.
Jennifer Peffley singled to the pitcher scoring
Lexie Shoup from third, and
Mackenzie Henderson hit a three-run bomb for the final runs of the game.
GAME TWO STAT LEADERS

Mackenzie Henderson drove in three runs going 1-for-3 with a home run.
•
Brianna Eatmon finished 2-for-3 with one run batted in and a run scored.
•
Olivia Carter (7-3) earned the win holding Blackburn to two runs, on nine hits, while striking out three batters in 7.0 innings pitched.
FOR THE FOES
• Lexie Yockey went 3-for-4 and scored a run to lead the Beavers at the plate.
• Baylee Hughes (2-4) suffered the loss allowing six runs, on 11 hits, in 4.0 innings pitched.
