LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Spalding women's basketball program has received a commitment from Caroline Janes, a 5-9 forward from North Bullitt High School. In her two years as a starter at North Bullitt, she helped her team to consecutive records of 26-8 and 24-9. Caroline becomes the sixth commitment to the Golden Eagle program this year.
Janes was instrumental in leading her team to District championships in 2017 and 2018, and helped them advance to the Regional championship game this past year. She averaged 13.2 points and a team-leading 6.2 rebounds as a senior, connecting on 49.6% of her field goal attempts and 67.6% of her free throws. She was named to the All-District team in 2017 and 2018, and was a Second Team All-Region selection in 2018. Caroline was also chosen to All-Tournament teams in the 2017 Campbellsville Food Pantry Classic and the 2017 Innisfree Hotels Pensacola Beach Tournament.
"Caroline did a very good job for North Bullitt this year," remarked Spalding coach
Charlie Just. "She gave their team a solid inside presence, and had the ability to step out on the floor and hit jump shots. She also rebounded the ball well for a team that was not overly tall. We are excited that she has decided to join us next year."
