LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Golden Eagles overcame a six-run deficit completing the rally to top UW-Platteville, 11-9, Monday night at Derby City Field improving to 6-0 on the season.

HIGHLIGHTS
Trailing 5-0 in the bottom of the second, Matt Harper lifted a two-run homer over the left field wall to cut SU's deficit to three runs.
The Pioneers added three more runs in the top of the third, but Clay Kelly answered curving a solo home run around the foul pole in left field to get the Golden Eagles within five runs.
Platteville scored a run in the fifth to extend their lead back to six runs, but SU answered with a trio of runs in the home half of the inning to make the score, 9-6. Kyle Stevens raced home on a wild pitch for the first run of the inning, and a Kelly double down the left field line drove in Dillon Sievert and Garrett Wilson for the for the final runs of the inning.
Kelly drove in Zane Baker with a single to third getting Spalding within a pair of runs in the sixth inning.
Following a scoreless seventh, the Golden Eagles used a four-run eighth to take the lead. Stevens roped a triple to right center to lead off the inning, and Wilson followed with a RBI single to right scoring Stevens. Wilson navigated the bases stealing second, moved to third on a wild pitch, then tagged and came home on a Sievert sacrifice fly to right field to tie the game, 9-9.
Harper came up big again in the eighth ripping a shot to the wall in right field scoring Benz and Quenton Brownlee for the go-ahead runs.
STAT LEADERS
Clay Kelly led SU at the plate going 3-for-4 with four runs batted-in finishing a triple short of batting for the cycle.
Matt Harper went a timely 2-or-5 putting SU on the board with two much-needed runs in the second and hit a game-winning double in the eighth.
Carter Atkinson (1-0) earned his first collegiate win holding the Pioneers scoreless in 1.2 innings.
Aaron Mitchell earned his first save of the season closing the door on Platteville striking out two batters in the ninth inning.
Aaron Blake had a solid performance holding the Pioneers to one run, on four hits, while striking out four batters and walking two in 3.2 innings.
FOR THE FOES
Leadoff man Josh Moses led Platteville going 3-for-5 with four RBI.
Scottie Gordon (0-1) suffered the loss, allowing two earned runs, on two hits, while striking out and walking one.
