MARYVILLE, Tenn. – The Spalding baseball team fell at Maryville, 4-3, Tuesday afternoon, on a walk-off single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth.

HIGHLIGHTS
Trailing 1-0, the Golden Eagles scored two runs in the top of the third to take a 2-1 lead. Clay Kelly singled to left driving in Garrett Wilson for Spalding's first run. Joe Hatcher followed, lining a ball into left scoring Dillion Sievert.
SU extended their lead in the fifth, when a Hatcher single dropped into right center field bringing Wilson across the plate to make the score 3-1.
STAT LEADERS
Joe Hatcher led the Golden Eagles at the plate going 3-for-4 with two RBI.
Clay Kelly continued his impressive start to the season going 2-for-4 with one RBI and a run scored.
Garrett Wilson also went 2-for-4 on the day scoring two runs and stealing three bases.
Lane Staples (0-1) suffered the loss, allowing one earned run, while striking out and walking two batters.
FOR THE FOES
Johnny Carpenter led the Scots going 2-for-3 with two runs batted-in.
Zach McGee (1-0) earned the win striking out one batter in one-third of an inning pitched.
