ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Spalding women's basketball team suffered their first loss of the season falling to Belhaven, 66-57, Saturday afternoon at the Webster Tip-Off Classic.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- For the second straight game, the Golden Eagles struggled to shoot the ball going 22-of-70 (31.4%) and 2-of-20 (10%) against the Blazers. Spalding took a 2-0 lead, but the Blazers took a 32-25 lead into the half.
Maleah Hirn connected on a layup cutting the deficit to five points, but Belhaven stretched their lead to 10 heading into the fourth quarter and held on to win 66-57.

Maleah Hirn led the Golden Eagles with 14 points, six assists and four rebounds.
Hunter Wright finished in double-figures for the second straight game finishing with 13 points and nine rebounds.
Megan Goeing also added 11 points going 4-of-6 from the field.
FOR THE FOES
- Aaliyaha Thornton led Belhaven with 18 points and Shanda Pugh added 12 points.
