Golden Eagles Outlast Gorloks, 2-1

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – In a battle for the top spot in the SLIAC standings, Spalding men's soccer team gutted out a 2-1 victory over the Webster Gorloks Thursday night in St. Louis, Mo. With the win the Golden Eagles improve to 12-2-1 overall and 5-0-1 in SLIAC competition, while Webster drops to 11-3-1 and 3-1-1 in conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Asher Benge found the back of the net in the 35th minute, notching his first career goal, off a back heel feed from Kornell Hilliard.
- Joseph Zamora scored the game-winner on a scrum in the box from four yards out.  
- Trevor Massa (5-0-0) earned the victory, tallying a career-high 10 saves, while allowing just one goal.
  
FOR THE FOES
- The Gorloks lone goal came from Aamahn Murvin (77').
- Matt Coffey (2-1-0) takes his first loss in net this season allowing two goals with four saves on the night.

- Spalding will continue their road trip with a matchup at Principia College on Saturday, October 20 at 3:00 pm EST.
