FULTON, Mo. – The Spalding men's basketball team lost their third straight game falling at Westminster, 74-61, Saturday afternoon at Historic Gymnasium in Fulton, Mo. The Golden Eagles dropped to 8-10 on the season and 6-6 in SLIAC competition, while Greenville improved to 12-7 and 8-5 in SLIAC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Spalding got out to an early 8-7 lead following a three-pointer from freshman Cornelius Watts at the 16:15 mark in the first. Over the next seven minutes the Blue Jays outscored SU 15-to-5 to take a nine-point lead on a Kobe Wands three-pointer. A Rylan Rowe three capped off a Golden Eagles spurt to get SU within five, but Westminster responded with a 7-0 run to push their lead back to double digits and SU found themselves trailing 43-31 at the half. A Robert Bendingfield layup in transition would trim Westminster's lead to seven with 13:00 to play, but that is as close at SU would get. WC responded with a 17-5 run to put the game out of reach going on to top the Golden Eagles, 74-61.
Dominique Ellis paced Spalding with 23 points going 9-of-11 from the field and 4-of-5 from beyond the arc. Freshman Robert Bendingfield finished with eight points, six rebounds and five assists.
FOR THE FOES
Four Blue Jays finished in double figures led by Colin Caywood's 19 points. Kobe Wands added 15 points, Stu Hollandsworth scored 11 points and Hayden Drace contributed 10 points.
