CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – The Spalding University baseball team fell to Thomas More College, 9-3, in a midweek matchup. The win improves the Saints to 20-6 overall. The loss drops the Golden Eagles to 21-10 on the season. Noah Frantz (3-0) picks up the win, while
Dan Sanders (1-1) is hit with the loss.
Matt Harper had a solid day at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a run batted in.
Bryce Spalding went 1-for-3 with a solo home run.
CJ Phillips was 1-for-3 with a walk and run scored.
Jeff Thompson 1-for-4 with a double and run scored.
The Golden Eagles drew first blood in this one, as leftfielder
Austin Drake drew a bases-loaded walk in the top of the second inning. They added another in the third on a Harper single, giving Spalding a 2-0 lead. The Saints responded with three runs in the bottom half of the third. The Eagles tied things up in the top of the fourth on the Spalding homer, before the Saints scored four runs on five hits in the bottom half. Thomas More added a pair in the eighth for insurance purposes, as they went on to the 9-3 victory.

nd, as they head to Carlinville, Illinois to take on the Beavers of Blackburn College in the first two of three games. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 1 pm EST.
