WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Spalding University women's basketball team edged Wittenberg, 72-70, to advance to the championship game of the Damon's/Hampton Inn Tipoff Tournament. The win improves SU's record to 1-1, while Wittenberg falls to 0-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Golden Eagles took a two-point advantage into halftime and
Alex Martin hit a shot at the buzzer to lift SU over the Tigers, 72-70.
- Martin led all scorers with 22 points on a 9-of-18 performance from the field.
Allison Just and
Tselem Gahagan also finish in double-figures. Just scored 13 points, while Gahgan added 11 points.
- Martin and
Mackenzie Myers led SU on the boards with six rebounds each, and
Micaiah Bowden passed out a team-high four assists.
- For the game, Spalding shot 41.9% overall and 35.7% from beyond the arc, while Wittenberg finished at a 28.3% mark and 33.3% from the three-point line.

- Amanda Raber and Hailey Dannemiller led the Tigers scoring 13 points and 11 points respectively.
