JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Spalding University women's basketball team overwhelmed MacMurray, 77-41, in Jacksonville, Ill. Wednesday evening. The win improves the Golden Eagles record to 9-6 overall and 4-4 in SLIAC play.

Maya Hardin lead the Golden Eagles with 25 points and nine assists, while
Alex Martin also contributed 12 points in only 24 minutes of play.
The Golden Eagles started the game strong on a 10-0 run in the first 3:27 of play. SU traded baskets with MacMurry for the next 4:43 of play with the score 18-9. MacMurray ended the half on a 4-0 run bring the score to 18-13 at the end of the first. The Golden Eagles came out on a good note to begin the second quarter to get up 23- 16 with 7:32 left. But a run by MacMurray brought the Golden Eagles lead to only 2, 24-22 with 4:37 left in the half. Ending the half on a 15-0 run gave Spalding a good lead going into half up, 39-22.
The third quarter was largely in Spalding favor; they continued to extend their lead gradually in the third outscoring MacMurray 17-10 going up 56-32. Spalding started the 4
th quarters hotter than any other going on a 12-0 run in the first 2:47 of play. After a run of a few threes MacMurray cut the lead, 69-41 with 5:41 left in the game. Spalding ended the game on a 8-0 run and a 36 point victory.
