JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. – The Spalding University women's soccer team suffered their first loss of the season to Mount St. Joseph Friday night at Woehrle Stadium with a final score of 3-0, dropping the Golden Eagles record to 5-1-1 on the season.
Mount St. Joseph maintained possession the majority of the game and had 21 shots, 11 on frame, to SU's four, with only one being on goal.
Dee Dee Sliter and
Shelby Lurie had opportunities for the Golden Eagles but could not find the back of the net. After a scoreless first half, Kaylan Gruber was the first to finish for the Lions in the 52
nd minute. Jasmine Cahill scored for Mount St. Joseph in the 66
th minute, followed by April Zeiger in the 73
rd. The Lions record improves to 3-2-1 on the season.
The Golden Eagles will face Franklin College this Sunday at 6 pm in Franklin, Ind.
