WILMORE, Ky. – The Spalding University women's soccer team played Asbury to a 1-1 tie Tuesday night in Wilmore, Ky. putting the Golden Eagles at 5-0-1 on the season.
Sophomore
Baylee Tabler scored the Golden Eagles lone goal scoring on a header in the 18
th minute.
McKenna Pfeiffer (0-0-1) earned the tie holding Asbury scoreless for 102 minutes while earing six saves.
Asbury got on the scoreboard in the sixth minute when a corner kick deflected off an SU defender and into the goal resulting in an own goal and a 1-0 deficit for the Golden Eagles. Spalding tied the score in the 18
th minute when a
Lauren Locke corner kick found the head of Tabler who put it in the back of the net to knot the score, 1-1. Neither team would score over the next 102 minutes as the game would end in the 1-1 tie.
The Golden Eagles will be back on the pitch Friday hosting Mount St. Joseph's at the Woehrle Athletic Complex in Jeffersonville, Ind. for a 6 pm kickoff.
