A wild pitch from Chris Zampini saw Vire come home from third to give the Golden Eagles a 2-0 lead. A double down the left field line by Bruner in the top half of the eighth inning scored
Nic Chafin from second and Spalding extended their lead to 3-0. Pitching would finish out the game as Mitchell and Vire combined to shut down the Bulldog offense in the final two innings to see Spalding close out the win.
