Golden Eagles win fourth straight blanking Eureka, 11-0

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding University women's soccer team won their fourth straight conference game beating Eureka College, 11-0, Saturday afternoon. The Golden Eagles record improves to 8-4-1, and 4-1-0 in SLIAC play. Eureka's record falls to 1-10-0 on the season and they have yet to win a conference game at 0-5-0.

The Golden Eagles dominated Eureka, controlling possession the majority of the game and getting off 44 total shots to Eureka's one which was saved by Kelsey Kaiser. Today's victory marks Kaiser's 8th win and her 6th shutout of the season.

The goal scorers for SU include Dee Sliter, Hannah Sullivan, Kelsie Huffman, Ali Bumblis, Courtney Anderson, Sarah Cornett, and Abby McGimsey. Sliter earned a hat trick on the day scoring in the 1st, 5th, and 13th minute of the game. Sliter's 14 total goals for the season places her 2nd in the SLIAC conference for goals scored, trailing the SLIAC leader by just one. Sullivan scored for the first time this season with back to back goals in the 7th and 9th minute; she is also credited with one assist. Huffman tallied two more goals for the Golden Eagles in the 22nd and 63rd minute of the game; she has scored four goals total this season. Bumblis scored her first goal of the season in the 26th minute. After barely missing a header off a corner, Bumblis followed her own shot and found the back of the net. Anderson's goal came in the 35th minute, quickly followed by a goal from Cornett, and then McGimsey. The Golden Eagles ended the first half leading 10-0.

Huffman had the only goal of the second half, assisted by McKenna Pfeiffer to take the lead 11-0. Baylee Tabler, Lauren Locke, Anderson and McGimsey were each credited with an assist. Tabler has earned eight assists this season tying her for 1st in the SLIAC rankings.

Next up, the Golden Eagles will host Greenville College at 1pm on October 19th. The conference match will take place at Champions Trace.
