Volleyball falls in three sets at IU Southeast

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The Spalding University volleyball team dropped their second game in row, falling to Indiana University Southeast in the three sets Wednesday night in New Albany.

FINAL SCORE: IU Southeast def. Spalding 3-0 (14-25, 18-25, 23-25)

KEY STATS
- The Golden Eagles out hit IUS based on kill percentage hitting .177 to the Grenadiers .142.
- Spalding also finished with more total kills totaling 35 to IUS' 32.
- Playing without starting setter Katelyn Cosgrove, the Golden Eagles committed eight setting errors to the Grenadiers one.
- After recording 14 aces in their season opener against Hanover, Spalding was held to zero aces against IUS, while committing seven servicer errors.
- The Grenadiers controlled the net earning 11 block solo' to the Golden Eagles three.

BEYOND THE STATS
- Freshmen Kaitlin Hall and Amanda Patterson saw their first collegiate action against the Grenadiers. Hall finished the match with a team-high 16 assists, while Dunagan finished with 14 assists.
- The Golden Eagles will be without senior setter Katelyn Cosgrove for the remainder of the season due to injury.

UP NEXT
The Golden Eagles will head down the road to Lexington for a two-day tournament at Transylvania. Spalding will take on the host Pioneers Friday at 5:00 p.m. EST. Saturday, Spalding will play Southern Virginia University at 11 a.m. EST and cap off the weekend with a rematch against Transylvania at 3:00 p.m. EST.
