LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Spalding University women's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw on Saturday afternoon against the Principia Panthers at Champions Trace. The draw moves the Golden Eagles to 4-3-2 on the season and 1-0-1 in SLIAC play. The Panthers moved to 3-6-1; 1-1-1 in the SLIAC.

The scoring opened up in the 17th minute as Principia's Clarice Bruch was able to beat the Golden Eagle keeper, Kelsey Kaiser to give the Panthers an early 1-0 advantage.

Spalding would battle back and find some space as Dee Dee Sliter was able to find the back of the net off a Shelby Lurie assist to even the score at 1-1 in the 40th minute. Sliter's goal was her seventh of the season, placing her fourth-best in the conference.

Right before the halftime horn Principia took a 2-1 lead as Bruch was able to beat the keeper for the second time in the match, and the Panthers took the lead into the halftime huddle.

Scoring was scarce in the second half but the one goal scored was by the Golden Eagles. Baylee Tabler scored off a Sliter assist to equalize with 26 minutes remaining. The two squads would finish regulation and two overtime periods without another ball finding the net and finished in a 2-2 draw.

The Golden Eagles would outshoot the Panthers in overtime two to one, but the Panthers led for the game nine shots to eight.
