Kono goal in 65th minute leads Eagles past Webster, 2-1

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding University men's soccer team kept their postseason hopes alive topping Webster, 2-1, Wednesday at Champions Trace.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Gorloks wasted little time getting on the board, Drew Quisenberry found the foot of Filip Dilila who fired a shot past SU keeper Logan Spencer.

- The Golden Eagles answered in the 37th minute when freshman Zach Fonda found Jacob McMurray who fired a shot in the back of the net to knot the score at one goal apiece.

- Freshman Tenko Kono slotted the game-winner following some beautiful passing from McMurry and Holehan that ended up finding the foot of Kono in the box.

KEY STATS
- With his goal against Webster, freshman Tenko Kono now has five tallies on the season ranking second on the team and ninth in the conference.

- With the win, the Golden Eagles improve to 5-2-0 in SLIAC play ranking third in the conference standings.

UP NEXT
The Golden Eagles will be back on the pitch Saturday at 2:00 p.m. EST hosting Blackburn College.
