LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding University volleyball team rallied after dropping the first set taking the next three to top MacMurray, 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED- The Golden Eagles dropped the first set, 25-18. SU hit a match-low .312 for the set, while the Highlanders tallied a team-high 14 kills.
- SU bounced back in the second set cruising to a 25-15 win to even the match a 1-1. For the set, Spalding threw down 13 kills with just two errors, while Mac scored three kills and six errors for a -.125 hitting percentage.
- The Spalding hitters led helped the Eagles take the third set, 25-22, to take a 2-1 advantage scoring 19 of SU's 25 points on kills.
- Spalding closed out the match taking the fourth set, 25-20. The Eagles hit a match-high .500 hitting percentage, tallying 14 kills with only one error.
KEY STATS- Spalding out hit the Highlanders .419 to .212, tallying 56 kills with seven errors, while MacMurray recorded 40 kills and 16 errors.

Victoria Heitzman and
Jessica Diehl led the Spalding attack. Heitzman finished with a team-high 17 kills and Diehl tallied 16 kills.

Kaitlin Hall set a new career-high assisting on 46 of the Golden Eagles 56 kills.
UP NEXTThe Golden Eagles will have a week off before returning to action Saturday, October 24 when they host a tri-match against Westminster and Transylvania. SU will take on SLIAC foe Westminster in the morning match at 11:00 a.m. EST, and will play Transy at 1:00 p.m.
