MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa –
Dee Dee Sliter and
Baylee Tabler each tallied a hat trick helping fuel the Spalding women's soccer team to a 9-0 shutout of Iowa Wesleyan, Saturday in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.
With the win, the Golden Eagles improve to 6-3-2 overall and 3-0-1 in SLIAC competition.
The Golden Eagles didn't waste any time getting on the board. Sliter slotted her first of three goals just two minutes into the game to give SU a 1-0 lead. Bayle Tabler put two more on the board in the 12
th and 13
th minute to push the margin to three. Ten minutes later
Alyssa Logan found the foot of
Madison Ratchford who put the Eagles fourth goal in the back of the net to send Spalding into halftime leading, 4-0.
Spalding added five second half goals to win by a 9-0 final margin. Similar to the first half, Sliter got the scoring started beating the IWU keeper for her second goal of the game. Tabler and Sliter then completed their hat tricks scoring in the 56
th and 60
th minute.
Paige Snepp and
Sarah Cornett put away SU's two final goals for the final margin.
Freshman goalkeeper
McKenna Pfeiffer earned her second win of the season.
The Golden Eagles will be back on the pitch Thursday, October 16 hosting a conference match against MacMurray at 2:00 p.m. EST at Champions Trace.
