Kerstin Hayes helped carry the Lady Eagles basketball team to a 75-56 victory over Principia College scoring 18 points each.
Guy got things going early, scoring the team's first nine points, to help SU get out to an 11-0 lead.
Principia College would cut into the Spalding lead, making it a five point game with 2:19 left in the first half after a Summer Switzer made jumper. However, Spalding would counter, ending the half on a 7-1 run to go into the locker with a comfortable 11 point lead at 35-24.
Spalding came out of the locker room hot to begin the second, going on a 17-4 run to take a 52-28 lead over Principia with 16:47 left in the game. The Lady Eagles wouldn't falter from there, maintaining a dominant lead throughout the remainder of the game and ending it with a final score of 75-56.
Spalding capitalized on Principia's 18 turnovers, scoring 20 points off turnovers.
The bench also came up big, scoring 24 points to Principia's six bench points.
The Lady Eagles will be back in action Saturday, February 15 against Webster University at Derek Smith Gymnasium at 1:00 p.m. EST.
