LOUISVILLE – Four players record multiple goals as the Spalding University women's soccer team powered past Eureka, 11-0.
Dee Dee Sliter led way scoring three goals while distributing three assists. Freshmen
Hannah Sullivan and
Danielle Bridge scored two goals each, marking each player's first collegiate multi-goal performance.
Baylee Tabler also added two tallies slotting her ninth and 10
th goal on the year.
SU goalkeeper
Kelsey Kaiser (5-4-0) earned the shutout stopping two attempts on-goal.
The Golden Eagles got the scoring started early and often. Sliter took a pass from Tabler and drove it past Eureka keeper Kaliona Matthew just 1:22 into the game. Three and a half minutes later Sliter fed
Hannah Sullivan for SU's second goal of the game. Spalding went six minutes without a goal until Tabler took a rebound from a Sullivan attempt and fired it into the back of the net. The Golden Eagles went on to add five more goals over the final thirty-three minutes of the half taking an 8-0 lead into the break.
Spalding pulled back their attack in the second half playing a person down for much of the half. However, the Golden Eagles managed to add three additional goals capped off by a Tabler goal to make the final score 11-0.
Spalding possessed the ball for the vast majority of the game resulting in a 25-4 shots advantage and 7-0 corner advantage.
