LOUISVILLE – The Spalding University women's soccer team dropped their home conference matchup against Westminster College, 3-0 Saturday afternoon.
Neither team could find the back of the net early as the game remained scoreless thirty-two minutes into the first half. The game took a swing when SU goal keeper
Kelsey Kaiser went out briefly with an injury. Westminster's Tayisah Pohtos fired a shot past backup keeper
Emily Lindsay on the Blue Jays first possession following Kaiser's departure to take a 1-0 advantage in the 33
rd minute. The Golden Eagles had opportunity to tie the game in the 35
th minute, but
Amanda Weber's shot was corralled by WC keeper Ellen Woolsey. Westminster's Monica Bittner added a goal in the 41
st minute, and SU went to the half trailing 2-0.
After sitting out the final twelve minutes of the first half, Kaiser returned to goal to start the second half. However, the Golden Eagles were only able to manage one shot on goal in final forty-five, and Pohtos slotted her second goal of the game in the 88
th minute to make the final score 3-0.
Despite the score, Spalding and Westminster shared possession much of the game. Spalding took 11 shots for the game, while Westminster tallied 13, and the Golden Eagles help a 3-1 corner kick advantage.
Emily Lindsay (0-4-0) took the loss, allowing two goals while gathering three saves.

Baylee Tabler each registered a shot; Tabler led the group with three shots.
