Women's Soccer Suffers 4-0 Loss To Earlham

Spalding women's soccer took a 4-0 loss away at Earlham College. The Golden Eagles surrendered a pair of goals in each half to take their second loss of the season dropping their record to 2-2-1 on the season.

The Golden Eagles gave up goals in the 11th and 19th minute to head to halftime trailing 2-0. Spalding outshot the Quakers 7-6 in the first half and held a 1-0 corner advantage, but could not find the back of the net.

SU attacked aggressively to start the second half. Freshman Tori Smith fired shots in the 48th and 49th minutes, but both shots were blocked by EC defense.

Earlham went on to add goals in the 64th and 68th minute to put the match out of reach.

Hannah Freytag and Tori Smith led the Golden Eagle offense with three shots each, while goal keeper Kelsey Kaiser finished the day with seven saves.

Up next, SU will host Franklin College Wednesday, September 25 at Elizabethtown Sports Park. Kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m., ET.
