Women's Basketball Loses at Transy, 92-55

The Lady Eagles shot a season-low 22.7 percent from the field and committed a season-high 25 turnovers as the Spalding University women's basketball team suffered a 92-55 defeat at Transylvania University Saturday afternoon. The loss drops the Golden Eagles to 0-3 on the season.

Spalding fell behind 4-0 to start the game, but Kallie Ash knocked down a three-pointer to cut the Transy lead to one. The Pioneers slowly pulled away the rest of the half to take a 43-23 lead over SU into halftime.

The Golden Eagles allowed four straight Transy points to start the second half, and were not able to get back in the game as Transy raced to a 92-55 win.

Jessica Guy paced Spalding with a double-double, scoring 18 points, while grabbing a game-high 17 rebounds.

Nicole Coffman led Transylvania scorers with 18 points, and Alex McKenzie recorded a double-double with 13 points 11 rebounds.

The Golden Eagles will be back in action Thursday, December 5 when they open St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) play on the road against Principia College. Tipoff is set for 3:00 p.m., ET.
