The Spalding University women's soccer team was shutout by visiting Centre College 3-0 Wednesday at Champions Trace.

SU fell behind early, giving up two goals in the first eight minutes. Alex Combs found the back of the net to put the Colonels on the board at the 4:36 mark. A little under three minutes later Katie Stevenson scored pushing the CC lead to 2-0.

The Golden Eagles picked up their attack to start the second half. Katie Ballard and Rachael Facktor fired shots at the goal in the first six minutes of the half, but Centre goalkeeper Megan Foley kept either from finding the net.

Centre's Rachael Harris found Hannah Williams in the box and Williams slipped a shot past SU keeper Kelsey Kaiser for the Colonels third goal of the game.

CC outshot Spalding 17-10 and held a 6-1 corner advantage for the game.

The Golden Eagles will be back in action this Saturday as they honor their seniors and host their final home match of the season. Kick-off is set for 3:00 p.m., ET at Champions Trace.
