The Spalding University women's soccer team lost 2-1 at Fontbonne University Saturday, dropping the Golden Eagles to 7-7-1 overall and 5-3 in the SLIAC.

Fontbonne's Kelly Hobbs scored a goal in the 15th minute to send SU to the half trailing 1-0.

The Golden Eagles fell behind 2-0 when Savannah Davis found the back of the net at the 60:26 mark.

Spalding got on the scoreboard late when Dee Dee Sliter found Hannah Freytag for a goal in the 89th minute.

SU and Fontbonne each took 13 shots, and Spalding held a 6-1 corner advantage.

The Golden Eagles will be back in action Wednesday, October 30 when they host Centre College. Kick-off is set for 4:30 p.m., ET at Champions Trace.
