Women's Soccer Wins Fourth Straight

The Spalding University women's soccer team won their fourth straight game, defeating Blackburn College 5-0. With win the Golden Eagles improve to 6-4-1 overall and 4-1 in the SLIAC.

Spalding jumped on the Beavers early when junior Amanda Weber slotted a goal off a Demi West assist at the 10:07 mark.

SU extended their advantage to 2-0 right before the half, freshman Alyssa Logan took a pass from Kayla Hart and fired it into the back of the net with 28 seconds remaining in the half.

Rachael Facktor found Demi West for a goal at the 48:36 mark to push the Spalding lead to 3-0.

The Golden Eagles added a pair of goals to make the final score 5-0. Dee Dee Sliter scored the first goal in the 55th minute off a Rachael Facktor assist. Two minutes later, Facktor found the back of the net for Spalding's final goal of the game.

Spalding dominated possession, out shooting Blackburn 28-1. The Golden Eagles also held a 3-0 corner advantage.

Rachael Facktor led the Spalding offense with one goal and two assists, while goalkeeper Kelsey Kaiser tallied her fourth shutout of the season.

The Golden Eagles will be back in action Saturday, October 19 at Westminster College. Kick-off is set for 8:00 p.m., ET.
