Head Coach Bridget Yates is in her 20th season at the helm of the SU volleyball team after taking over the program in 1998 racking up an impressive 403 wins since taking over the program.

Last season, Yates was named SLIAC Coach of the Year after guiding the Golden Eagles to a 21-10 record and appearance the SLIAC conference tournament.

While at Spalding, Yates has led her teams to winning seasons in 17 of her 19 seasons being named the SLIAC Coach of the Year twice (2014, 2016) and the KIAC Coach of the Year five times (1999, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2006), as well as the NAIA Region 12 Coach of the Year in 2006. Since Spalding joined the NCAA in 2009, Yates has coached 22 SLIAC All-Conference selections, including 2016 SLIAC Player of the Year and current assistant coach Jessica Diehl. Coach Yates also led the Golden Eagles to four consecutive USCAA National Tournament Final appearances, winning the National Championship in 2008.

In addition, Yates volleyball experience includes coaching in Louisville at Community Catholic School, Derby City Junior Olympic Volleyball Club, MidAmerica Volleyball Academy, Union Volleyball Club, and for USA Athletes International in Amsterdam, Holland and Perth, Scotland.

Coach Yates played collegiate volleyball and is a graduate of Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana. She currently resides in nearby New Albany, Ind. with her husband Josh, and daughters Julia and Lilly.
