Coach Nelson began coaching the Women's Team at Spalding in October 2020, and the following year he also took the lead of the Men's Team at Spalding. Prior to coaching at Spalding, Coach Nelson was the Head Girls Golf Coach at Mercy Academy, where he was named the Region 6 Coach of the Year for the 2019-2020 Season.
Before his coaching career, he was involved in the Golf Business in various capacities. He currently holds the position of General Manager at Oxmoor Country Club in Louisville, which is one of the three clubs that SU Golf calls home, along with Persimmon Ridge and Polo Fields Country Club.
