Micah Saltzberg

Micah Saltzberg is in his third season with the Golden Eagles, acting as the hitting coach and recruiting coordinator, and coaching the catchers defensively.

The 2024 campaign was debatably the Golden Eagles’ best season, winning both the regular season and conference championships and 31 games overall. The Eagles also earned the right to be the #1 seed at the Lexington regional. Ethan Tuttle and Hunter Strong both earned All-American honors. Spalding’s offense averaged over 8 runs per game.

In 2023, Saltzberg completed a successful first season working with the catchers and hitters, including two Academic All-Americans. The Eagles batted .328 and averaged nearly 9 runs a game.

Saltzberg comes to Spalding after spending four years as an assistant baseball coach at Shenandoah University. A University of Maryland graduate, he spent the summer of 2022 as the head coach of the Waccamaw Naturals in the Ripken Experience Collegiate League.

Saltzberg was part of the Hornets staff that won a conference championship and hosted a regional. He also served as the 1B coach for Shenandoah and the defensive coach for the catchers. His catchers threw out 40% of would-be base stealers.

In college, Saltzberg was the team manager and video coordinator for Maryland. He provided the Terrapins assistance with logistics and operations as well as analyzing statistics and video footage.
