Cooper French, a native of Louisville, KY, is entering his first season with the Golden Eagles. Prior to his time at Spalding, French played two years of college baseball at Hanover College. In two years, French posted a 1-0 record in 12 appearances on the mound, recording 22 strikeouts in 22 innings.Â
After French’s playing career came to an end, French took over as the Student Assistant Coach for the 2023 and 2024 seasons. As the Student Assistant Coach, French served as the outfielder’s coach, and 1B coach, and also helped with scouting reports. During his two years as Student Assistant Coach, the Panthers saw two pitchers win back-to-back Conference Pitcher of the Year awards.Â
In his time as Student Assistant Coach, French helped coach the Panthers to their first-ever regular season and conference tournament championship and helped them to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance.Â
During the summer of 2023, French served as a Head Coach in the Commonwealth Collegiate Baseball League, where he led his team to an 18-2 record and a league championship.Â
French, as the Graduate Assistant, will study for his Master of Business Administration. French will serve as the Pitching Coach for the Golden Eagles, while also assisting with recruiting, camps, scouting reports, software, and video.Â
