Women’s Volleyball Sweeps Saturday Double-Header

BEREA, Ky. — The Spalding University Golden Eagles women's volleyball team delivered a dominant Saturday performance at the Seabury Center, picking up back-to-back victories over Brevard College and Berea College.

With the two victories, Spalding improved its overall record to 2-2 on the season.

Game 1: Spalding 3, Brevard 1

(Set Scores: 25-17, 24-26, 25-16, 25-19)

Spalding kicked off Saturday morning with a four-set victory over the Brevard College Tornadoes, controling the tempo behind a potent service game and sharp attacking.

Match Highlights

  • First Set (25-17): Spalding surged late in the opening frame behind strong attacks from Kylie Minnis and Paloma Martinez, building a double-digit lead to comfortably take set one.

  • Second Set (24-26): Brevard answered in a tightly contested second set, taking advantage of late Spalding errors to narrowly pull out a 26-24 win and equalize the match.

  • Third & Fourth Sets (25-16, 25-19): The Golden Eagles regrouped in the third frame, catching fire behind the serving of Sophi Reynolds and Presley Hagan. Spalding recorded a hit percentage of .359 in the final set to seal the 3-1 victory.
