Spalding Athletics Welcomes 2026 Hall of Fame Class

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - On Friday, October 9th, Spalding Athletics named four inductees into the Roger Burkman Hall of Fame. This year's class honored the 2014-15 Men's Golf Team, Lacey Davis (Softball), Kyle Jenkins (Men's Track & Field), and Joey Lesher (Men's Soccer).

Inductees:
The 2014-15 Spalding men's golf team had a historic season, finishing 15th in the nation at the 2015 NCAA Men's Golf National Championships. That is the highest national finish by a Spalding program in the athletics department's NCAA era. The team also captured the 2015 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's golf championship. Hunt Lenz won the individual title, and the team swept the conference Player, Newcomer, and Coach of the Year awards.

Lacey Davis started at shortstop for the Spalding softball team from 2006 to 2008. In 2007, Lacey was named Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year and earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association Second Team All-Region honors. In 2008, she earned United States Collegiate Athletic Association All-America First Team honors.

Kyle Jenkins was a 2015 NCAA and U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-American in the discus and a three-time nationals qualifier, and he still holds Spalding's school records in the discus, hammer throw, shot put, and weight throw. Beyond his accomplishments at Spalding, Kyle also holds the Kentucky three-A high school state record in the discus.

Joey Lesher left an incredible legacy on the soccer field. In 2016, Joey scored one of the biggest goals in program history: a game-winner in the 98th minute over Webster. That goal helped lead Spalding to its first St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic regular-season championship and a perfect 9-0 record in conference play. That same season, Joey was named SLIAC Defensive Player of the Year and National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Region. He also became the program's first NSCAA Academic All-American and was named to the SLIAC 2010-2019 Men's Soccer All-Decade team recognizing his excellence both on the field and in the classroom. Joey Lesher's name is synonymous with Golden Eagles excellence.
